Thats the way Zaha-aha, i like it!

Here are the latest images from Zaha Hadids competition winning scheme for a new campus at the University of Vienna.

As expected with Hadid, no line is perpendicular. The overhanging triple height space which looks to be clad in a Zinc is a dream element.

Vienna is going through a stage of real investment at the moment, and this just shows that they are willing to experiment. This competition win comes off the back of a very successful few years for Hadid, which saw her pick up a few UK projects including the Aqua Centre for the London 2012 Olympics. Nice - I guess that kind of weirdness works as a one off. If it catches on and they start building whole areas leaning all over the place then I will have to suggest they re-evaluate what they're smoking.

I await the perpendicular renaissance!

I love Zaha Hadids work, she spent a lot of time working only in paper in the early - her along with the likes of Bernard Tschumi, and Rem Koolhaas were referred to as paper architects, because it was all theory and no built works.Obviously they all started to build works of their own and this has been to our benefit, keep up the good work guys.
